Exercise Routines

Exercising…where do you even begin with that one word? You can have weights, yoga, dancing, walking, running, and plyometrics. The list is endless of possible workouts.

We all have our favorite workouts but make excuses for not doing them. One common thing I hear is “I don’t have time to exercise!” We all have busy lives, but if you want to lead a healthier life even 20 minutes will do. I’m as guilty as the next person of not exercising daily or even 5-6 times a week, but I try to do 3-4 days a week.

Between having 3 boys, a full time job, and graduate school I could easily say “I don’t have time!” BUT I make time.

If you’re a morning person wake up 40 minutes early so you can squeeze in that workout before the kids wake up or you go to work. If you’re a night person, exercise right when you get home from work.

There are so many reasons why we will give up exercising too. We all try to start above where we are and get disappointed when you can’t succeed with a hard workout OR don’t see the results right away. Losing weight the right way or even toning your body isn’t an overnight thing! It takes time! So start small and build from there!

If you are a beginner and want to run, don’t attempt a 10k and be disappointed when you can only run a quarter of a mile. That should be an accomplishment.

If you never lifted weights, don’t try to start with 50-100 lbs.

Ultimately, you should know your body and its capabilities.

A side note: MY EXERCISE ROUTINES

So while I love lifting weights, I have man shoulders (not that it’s a bad thing but just not for me!) So I like other exercises. My favorites are T25, Piyo, Zumba, and Just Dance. While T25 is hard, it is only 25 minutes so fitting in a workout is easy with it. Zumba and Just Dance are just fun to do. Who doesn’t like dancing? I like to do workouts that are fun that way I continue doing my routine.

Needless to say, exercising is beneficial to your life and can make you look and feel amazing!

What are your exercise routines? How long have you been doing the same routine? Do you switch it up? Let me know!
